Biography

Rebecca Ibe was born in Berlin, where she discovered her passion for the stage and for music as a child extra at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. In 2014 she began her first vocal training at the Musikschule Berlin-Reinickendorf with Birgit Bauer, where she was also admitted to the pre-college preparatory program.

From 2017, she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance/Music Theatre at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin). She subsequently completed her Master’s degree in Operatic Singing with Prof. Caroline Stein at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig (HMT Leipzig).

During her studies in Leipzig, she performed the role of Gabriel in Die Schöpfung (Haydn) and sang the title roles in Das schlaue Füchslein (Janáček) and Il segreto di Susanna (Wolf-Ferrari).

In August 2023, she made her debut as 1.Dame in Die Zauberflöte (Mozart) at the Alte Spitzenfabrik Grimma. From the 2023/24 season, she appeared at Theater Plauen-Zwickau as Adele and Ida in Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss). In 2025, she performed the role of Papagena in Die Zauberflöte (Mozart) at Oper Halle.

Rebecca Ibe is a prizewinner of the Leipziger Gesangspreis 2026.
