Biography
Rebecca Ibe was born in Berlin, and discovered her passion for theater and music working as a child extra at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. She took piano lessons and in 2014 began pre-tertiary-study training in singing at the Music School Berlin-Reinickendorf with Birgit Bauer. In 2017, she began a Bachelor of Singing/Theater of Music at the University of Arts Berlin, studying with Prof. Enrico Facini, Prof. Robert Gambill, and Florian Thomas. She completed her Bachelor in 2022.
In October of 2022, Rebecca commenced her Masters of Opera Singing at the HMT Leipzig, studying under Prof. Caroline Stein. Recent performances include Gabriel (Die Schöpfung-Hadyn) and the title roles in Das Schlaue Füchslein (Janáček) and Il segreto di Susanna (Wolf-Ferrari). In August 2023 she gave her debut as 1. Dame (Die Zauberflöte-Mozart) at Alte Spitzenfabrik Grimma.
Since the 2023/24 season she is performing Adele and Ida (Die Fledermaus-J.Strauss) at Theater Plauen-Zwickau.
In 2025 she is performing the role of Papagena (Die Zauberflöte-Mozart) at Oper Halle.
